Multichoice Nigeria Set To Launch Pay-per-view Subscription Model To All Dstv/Gotv Subsribers

A New development to all Subscribers on DSTV/GOTV is about to be launched soon. The name of the development will be tagged as Pay-per-View subscription model.

Its now a common thing that the DSTV/GOTV subscription is now very exhobitant considering the fact that no good electricity in this nation to watch favourite stations coupled with the current state of Nigeria economy.

Subscribers having been ranting bitterly about the high price of the current subscription rate in Nigeria and some believes that they should only pay for what they need.

The good news from Multichoice Nigeria company is that they will be launching a pay-per-view (PPV) option in the country. Pay-Per-View (PPV), will allow viewers pay an additional fee to watch a particular programme either on a cable or a satellite TV,

The company says this would allow subscribers watch some important programmes not available on their bouquet. Though, at an extra cost to the willing consumers.

According to the HPR,
“Pay TV operation is not like the telecom version where you pay for the amount of airtime you want to use. Pay-as-you-go, as believed by some customers, is not obtainable in the pay TV business,”

“Paying for PPV in Europe and the UK is equivalent to paying for two months subscription in Nigeria. We know Africans love boxing that is why we are bringing the best thing that is happening in the world to Africa.”

One subscriber lamented bitterly saying…“Having a pay-per-view could be a good alternative, as to me the current subscription regime is a cheat on me. Initially, I used to do the full bouquet like N13000 ($42.5) and then I just thought I was wasting money and reduced it to around N3000 ($9.8). What I really watch on the DStv is the E!,” said Ms. Olamide, a DStv subscriber.

I think this will be a great and welcomed development if this finally implemented.
